Artist David Berkvam

David Berkvam lives and works in Oak Grove, Oregon. He has lived mostly in Portland since childhood. He was born in Paris, France, is a French and American citizen, and studied at the American University in Paris, The University of Oregon and Reed College. Berkvam has shown art at a number of cafes, lounges, restaurants, wine shops, bars and galleries in and around Portland. davidberkvam.com‍

This series focuses mainly on animals from the Pacific Northwest, some endangered or rare, common, threatened, sport or other pests. They all exist in these paintings in an environment of human faces. Hairless without bodies. Just the faces with a range of ages, races and emotions. The masses that propagated to form the Anthropocene. Not sinister but mostly unaware. All works are ink and acrylic on clay ground.
