Kinboshi Ramen | 609 SE Ankeny St

As one of Portland’s most popular authentic artisan/handmade Japanese ramen joints, Kinboshi takes pride in being the first to introduce Portland to Hakata style ramen, and boy, are we glad they did. Their epic Tonkotsu Ramen dishes with their bright red spicy broth brings us all the warm and soothing vibes during Portland's long winter, and it's refreshing noodle options give us the feels all year long. We recommend their curry and rice, too! Really, everything is great. And it's in walking distance from the hotel!

Thai Champa | 938 E Burnside St

Located in the parking lot between Jupiter NEXT (on the Hey Love side) and Union Jack's, you'll find Thai classic food cart Thai Champa, serving the very best of all of your favorite Thai dishes. From curries to noodles to fried rices... you'll get portions the size of your head that will fill you up, warm and cozy, and you'll get to meet two of our very favorite folks: Owner Air and her husband Sone. Check out their story from the Thai Champa website: "Chef Air immigrated to America from Laos and with that brought her amazing cooking skills to the States. She immediately retained a job working at a Thai restaurant, cooking as their Head Chef. After years of working nearly 14 hour days, 7 days a week for someone else, her children and husband finally convinced her that she had the ability to cook in her own kitchen for her own customers. Enter Thai Champa, a food truck owned by both Air and her husband, Sone. This big blue truck has been home to Air's dreams. Air loves cooking for her customer's and you can certainly taste that in all of her dishes. Fresh ingredients comprise the meals, which all come in hefty helpings. If you're ever in the neighborhood and looking for something great to eat, come and say hi to Air and Sone. They'd love to chat and cook for you."

Mirakutei | 536 E Burnside St

Mirakutei means a place to eat and enjoy. This Japanese restaurant in walking distance of Jupiter serves Sapporo style ramen which is a milky white soup stock called “Paitan”, and curly medium-thick noodles. Paitan broth is made with pork and chicken bones, dried konbu, chicken, anchovy, yellow onion, scallions, carrots, and ginger roots. Does that sound as good to you as it does to us? It better! Plus, they've got stunning sushi options and tapas dishes that will make you want to weep with joy.

Frank's Noodle House | 822 NE Broadway

IF IT'S GOOD ENOUGH FOR GUY FIERI, IT'S GOOD ENOUGH FOR US! Once featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, Frank's Noodle House got a high-five and two thumbs up from Guy and his team. We are huge fans of Frank's hand-pulled noodles. They're so chewy, flavorful, and delicious. LaMian (Handmade noodles) is a type of Chinese noodle made by stretching and folding the dough into strands. The noodles should be made fresh and dropped into boiling water immediately. Often customers can watch the whole process from their table.
