I took a few year’s hiatus from serious painting, to devote to travel (& getting ready to travel, & recovering from travel) with my small family. The images for this new painting series are taken from our travels; some are close by, in Oregon & Washington, others are from living and traveling around Greece, Cyprus & other parts of Europe.

My impetus for this series, was to attempt to express (in paint) the idea of EPIC, the singular, the heroic, the grand poem. I wanted to show that all things can be Epic, depending on scale & perspective, & that anywhere can be Epic, that everything can “extend beyond the usual or ordinary”, if you let it. (The range of style & subject is intentional.)
